Aboriginal Strategic Planning

5 days Learn how to implement a community, organization, or board strategic planning session with a focus on specific strategies. Understand how to keep the plan alive through evaluation, revision, and performance, measurement. Become familiar with a proven model for strategic planning based on systems thinking and its associated processes, tasks, and activities. Through rich and creative arts and nature-based experiential learning, balanced with tradition, you learn how to develop a viable strategic plan. Long-range plans can help communities keep pace with changes in the world, reduce their dependence on governments, and raise the standard of living of Aboriginal citizens now and in the future. Examine and explore: systems thinking; how to use the techniques involved in a strategic planning model; ways to identify the vision, mission, and values for your community/organization/board; how to determine the key factors of success; steps to completing a current state assessment and an environmental analysis; setting strategies on which to focus resources and efforts; developing business and operations plans; how to implement your strategic plan and how to evaluate and measure its performance.
